Thank you to everyone who supported our six-week fundraising campaign in May and June, which raised around £23,000 (including £10,000 matched funding from the Church of England). This will really help towards installing a badly needed heating system for St Bartholomew’s Church, much greener and more efficient than the oil-fired system.
Special thanks to those who organised and took part in a fabulous day on 28th June in the church and at Hyde Abbey Garden, as part of the Winchester Garden Festival. It was a real community effort, including Hyde900, Chris Bird (Sparsholt College), Wilder Hyde, the Hyde Tavern and numerous volunteers doing ploughman’s lunches, a cake stall, Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, children’s activities and refreshments. A beautiful summer evening in the churchyard rounded off the day with a BBQ and live music from local bluegrass band North Drive.
